Dev Log # 13
Not much news this week, I've mostly just been thinking and planning. Had a really good chat with a game design specialist (forgot to ask if they're ok being named here!) and they gave some amazing feedback I want to ruminate on before jumping back into the code.
One big change will be a third take on the NPC socialising system. The current version was fun to design and build (for me) but it's awful to actually play. The good news is that I've built everything as modular as possible so I can slot a new system in whenever I want with very little effort.
More important is that a lot of people have been asking for new content instead of constant invisible changes to the framework/design! I have plenty of ideas, so I want each test build of the UI update to have at least one new scene or event. That's something I've promised before but always ended up side tracked with design changes, so hopefully I'll remember this time! There'll be no new characters though, just fleshing out Diana and Emily (both the giantess and tiny versions of each). Part of that will be events happening in more places, such as running into NPCs when you're out gathering or exploring which I implemented a while back but haven't really used yet.
Other than that, I've made a few sketches of how the UI will look and started a portrait of a planned character. Nothing worth showing just yet. The character won't be added until after the UI overhaul is done but I need to start working out my drawing and design skills so expect a few more pieces teasing future ideas...
